Mud, rain, kamikaze gnats, crazy humidity, freezing pools, 1,000’ of elevation in an hour… nothing seamed to slow these chicks down on this weekend’s hike! And they kept it classy the whole time. Word. Dunderberg Will Kick Your Bear Intermediate Hike

Check Outerthere Gear recommendations for spring hiking trips.

Bear Mountain's lesser known cousin, Dunderberg Mountain, presents an awesome 7-mile loop just south of the famous resort mountain (once destined to be a NYS prison!)  With epic views preceded by epic scrambling, you don't want to miss this trip!  This trip is rated INTERMEDIATE.  We'll be meeting in front of the Schnippers at the ground floor of the New York Times Building on 41st street and 8th ave at 8am and walking over as a group to the Port Authority on 41st and 8th ave to take the 8:45a Shortline Bus headed to Bear Mountain-West Point (buy round trip, $36).  We will be returning on the 5:19p bus back. Bring your headlamp and/or flashlight, just in case.  And here's what gear to pack.  Hashtag for this trip is #dunderbergwillkickyourbear
