Fam, I can't stress enough how frustrating it is as an artist to find the right music for your video. Since day 1, I've used copyrighted music. I got a kick out of watching my videos to my favorite music. One hundred videos later, I was still doing it. However, last month, Vimeo, my formerly preferred video site started taking down my videos due to copyright infringement claims. They just took my sh_t down, with no opportunity to copy what I'd written about the videos, preserve views and likes, nothing. It's my fault. I should have never used music that did not belong to me. But I never thought the response would be so final.

So, I came back to YouTube to try and upload my sh_t, but since YouTube is all about making money on ads, they don't mind letting you upload videos with copyrighted music because they've got deals with everybody and get paid either way, with a claimant also getting paid. Seems fair to me. However, when it's your original video and edits, suddenly, someone else making money off of that doesn't seem right.

And that brings me back to my original issue. Where do I get music I like from? YouTube (and Facebook) both provide music that I can use in my work at no charge and without worrying about copyright issues. However, since I make lots of videos, I quickly ran out of tracks I liked, plus I still had to go through hundreds of tracks before finding the ones you like. Ugh.

There are also sites specifically for creators where I can get music from that I can use. However, there are actually lots of options for creators that need music with prices ranging all over the place for tracks. They're like copyright clearinghouses. It's a pretty dope idea. However, there's not even that many tracks to choose from across these options, making the value of these services mad suspect. So, not an option.

Then, one day, Anna says, why don't you just make your own music using GarageBand? I'd thought of this years ago and had told her, but since I was still using copyrighted music with no issues, I put it to the side and I never got around to it. Well, I was so frustrated with this music situation, I was ready to sit down and learn GarageBand. Two days later, I produced 3 fresh new tracks. The track in this video was my second track and I hope you like it as much as I do.

So, with this video, I'm introducing my new artist name,

IT'S AL YO!

I want to thank all of the artists who create free-use music that helped me get this far. And I definitely want to thank all of the artist who create music that I gotta license, but had not. If I've used your music in my work and you're not cool with that, rest assured, I'm updating all the videos and re-posting with original music throughout 2019. Please be patient fam. Thank you!

Anyway, here's what's up with this video...

It was one of those spontaneous suggestions, Hey, why don't we round up the gang and just go on a hike? OK. Everyone agreed on Wawayanda, but which trailhead? So naturally, I whipped out the map and accidentally picked one of the most breath-taking parts of the A.T. trail right hurr... This is how it went down.
