December camping in NY
There are nude beaches in Brazil where you’ll find fully-dressed on-lookers. Colloquially, they’re called, “curiosity-seekers”.
They claim to be “thinking about it” while staring at your those who already thought about it and made up their minds. They ultimately decide it’s not for them. But, they’ll hang out because they’re still “curious”.
And that’s what it feels like to go camping in December. Everyone’s curious. Some think you’re crazy. But few actually try it.
The idea of camping in a cold New York park is about as attractive as swimming on New Years at Coney Island.
But, people do it. More than you think.
So maybe it’s not that crazy of an idea. Maybe you might even enjoy it.
Like these two campers who did it this past weekend in balmy 50-degree weather. As if December said, “Psyche!” to curiosity-seekers.
