Beginner Camping Weekend!
Torrential rains, muddy trails, biblical bug infestation… just another day in the life of Outerthere campers! This was Just An Overnight on the Appalachian Trail.
What started as a personal experience back in 2012, turned into this. There was no beginner camping last year, so I’m not sure if this is going to become “a thing”, but I’m glad we did it.
We drove up, set up camp, skies suddenly open up and dump a torrential downpour that lasted lasted 3 hours, followed by mud, bugs, and a baking sun evaporating the water right off the trees. It was spectacular. And despite everything, we had another epic overnight on one of the oldest sections - if not the oldest section - of the Appalachian Trail. Word. As a reminder, Sean and Yvonne were dating about a year by this point.
