MiniOcktoberfest Overnight Camping / Backpacking, 6 Degrees of Awesome!

Starting Friday, October 26, an unnamed nor'easter hit NYC. It was expected to totally f_ck up everyone's weekend plans. "Enough rain can fall over a several-hour period to create miserable conditions for those spending any time outdoors," according to AccuWeather senior meteorologist Alex Sosnowski. Originally, 12 campers signed up for this trip, however, with each day, more frightening news started to come out about winds, flooding, and other assorted nastiness and as you'd expect, campers started canceling. No one wants to get squished by a tree felled by nasty winds, get electrocuted, or wake up in a pond. And no one definitely wants to be blown off a mountain, slipping and tumbling all the way down to their death. You get the picture.

It was in this setting that 5 of the awesomest friends a guy could ask for came out to celebrate the 6th annual event and help me wrap up the season. I wanted to show the joy, the misery, the cold, the spectacular company and incredible views that followed the next day after the storm passed, to show you that no matter what the weather, you'll never regret coming out with Outerthere.

I want to thank everyone who came and made this 2018 season the most epic yet for Outerthere. Thank you to Anna, Kai, CJ, Grace, and Charles for coming out on this crazy-ass trip and supporting each other by sharing loads, tarps, food, and laughs. And to everyone else, there's tons in store for the post-season and I hope I see you outerthere and/or 2019 season! Word.
