The Ike Hike!
Basically, O.G. Outerthere fam Ike said, why don't you do a hike to such-and-such lake in Harriman? To which I replied, why don't YOU do a hike to such-and-such lake in Harriman?!
And what started as a regular conversation turned into an epic search for the best transportation, which turned into a ridiculous 3-hour schlep because our train was canceled (#NJTransitFail); then a scouting hike/camping trip where we ended up trespassing on private property because we used 3 maps of the same exact area each with different information, and passed some Blair Witch Project-looking ruins, complete with sacrificial alter and offerings, which Jose, um, confiscated, then later used for tipping our waiter at our new fave post-Suffern-hike resto; then the temp dropped like some rave party beat from 80 to 30, but since everyone was dressed for summer, we all almost died of hypothermia... OK, maybe we didn't almost die, but it was cold af. I want to give a huge shoutout to all Outerthere fam who came out to support their boy, Ike on his first hike. You down to host a hike, too? Do it!
